Mid term evaluation of the National Strategy on Reproductive Health

UNFPA, Chisinau, March 23, 2010 – Specialists of the Health Ministry and representatives of international structures from the Republic of Moldova gathered in a working seating to tackle the results of mid term evaluation of the National Strategy on Reproductive Health.

This seating is focused on successes, deficiencies registered in this field in the Republic of Moldova over the last 5 years as well as recommendations of the national working group which assessed the Strategy and future actions to be undertaken.

The participants in the meeting discuss issues linked to: mother and neonatal health; family planning; prevention of abortions; prevention of sexually transmitted diseases; infertility; timely prevention and diagnosis of the mammary and cervix cancer; dimension of gender of the National Strategy on Reproductive Health; sexual violence and trafficking in persons; teenagers and youth; reproductive health of men and aged persons.

This event, held on the 23-24th of March is organized by the Health Ministry in partnership with the World Health Organization and UNFPA, United Nations Population Fund

The National Strategy on Reproductive Health was approved via a governmental decision for a 10 year period (2005-2015) and stipulates the achievement of many objectives of situation enhancement in the field of reproductive health.
